Description: 

We are looking for an entrepreneurial, strategic, and value-driven full-time “Startups Program Lead” to be In charge of our Startups Acceleration Program & startups cohort management. 

This position requires a person that can work on the programmatic level as management and coordination as well as developing and contributing to the learning delivered during the program. 

The main objective of the Program is to contribute to the economic growth of the city by empowering startups to scale as well as designing learning experiences to lead the entrepreneurs during this journey.

The Startups Program Lead will handle the program management, coordination, and learning. Different teams will be supporting during the phases of the program and the reporting will be direct to the director of the programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Planning and Coordination

- Developing & Maintaining project plans (action plans & schedules, procurement plans, and M&E plans)

- Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective

- Assessment of community and target segment needs to ensure matching of offered services

- Organizing, attending, and participating in stakeholder meetings and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings

- Providing administrative support as needed

 

2) Ensuring Timely & Effective Implementation

- Ensuring projects deadlines are met

- Develop along with Impact Officer tools to validate and verify the quality of program activities

- Undertaking projects tasks as needed

- Validate and verify the quality of the program implemented against agreed results on an ongoing basis.

 

3) Monitoring of Program process

- Process validation and checking on Programs activities

- Validate and verify the quality of the program implemented against agreed results on an ongoing basis.

 

4) Managing & Tracking Resources

- Managing & Coaching Program staff

- Follow up on procurement of program-related services & assets

- Track Expenditures & control assigned budget

 

5) Documenting, Reporting & Presenting

- Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project

- Accountable to ensure compilation and sharing of reports such as;

  • Bi-Monthly Narrative Progress Report
  • Bi-Annually Narrative Progress Report

- Develop presentations for a range of audiences, including the senior management, board members, and donors with a focus on actionable recommendations to address programmatic needs and risks

 

7) Support to other functions

Participation in training programs organized by the Programs team

Support for other teams and functions such as Marketing and Community Development Teams 

 

Requirements:

- Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of project coordination/management or entrepreneurial experience

- Impact-driven and self-motivated

- Must have excellent organizational skills as well as time & personal management skills

- Knowledge of budgeting, bookkeeping, and reporting

- Ability to work on both operational and strategic levels

- Previous experience working with nonprofit sector preferred

- Fluency in English written, read, and spoken

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and high computer literacy

- Ability to liaise with international organizations, and local partner

- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills in a team setting
